This free virtual program is presented by the Norton Center for the Arts.
Whether they’re racing in the Kentucky Derby or being reared on a personal farm, horses are a major part of Kentucky culture. But how does Kentucky horse culture embrace the arts and culture? This program will explore the ways in which Kentucky’s relationship with horses is celebrated through the work of regional artists and how the horse, as a subject, has been a creative muse for generations.
Join us for this lively panel discussion moderated by Centre Professor KatieAnn Skogsberg and featuring Amy Beisel, museum director at the International Museum of the Horse; Greg Harbut, owner of Harbut Bloodstock; Anne Hardy, executive director of Horse Country; and Blair Newsome, executive director of Hooves of Hope Equestrian Center.
